2021 Sanderson Farms Championship final round preview
Could we see our first, first-time winner of the 2021-22 PGA Tour season in only the first month of play? On Sunday at the Sanderson Farms Championship, Sahith Theegala enters holding onto a one-stroke lead over the remainder of the field. Theegala, the 2020 Jack Nicklaus award winner for top collegiate golfer in America after a dazzling senior season at Pepperdine, enters Sunday’s final round hoping to close out the first victory of his professional career.
If Theegala (-18) is to claim his first victory, he’ll have to hold off a host of names at 17 under headlined by Sam Burns. The Ryder Cup snub has been one of the best players on the PGA Tour over the last 10 months, and is looking to keep that streak rolling at the Sanderson farms.
Further back, a group headlined by Matthew Wolff and Will Zalatoris looks to mount Sunday charges to bring themselves back into contention.
